Having left the UK at 21 to open Ministry of Sound in Bangkok, Taipei and Singapore, Damian Saint has been at the forefront of the Asian house music scene for 17 years now.
He currently presides over the music direction at the W Hotel in Bali as Music & Sound Suite Curator, and spends most of his days on the decks and in the studio alongside some of the world’s most exciting house and techno acts, leaving periodically to bring his sound to turntables around the region.
On the decks his (at times) blistering displays of technical ability, and unapologetically eclectic track selection make for some electric moments, and despite nearly 20 years of playing records, there is a palpable excitement to every set he plays.
His skills have taken him across many of Asia’s house and techno hot spots, from Japan to Vietnam, Seoul to Bali and everywhere in between, with a long stint as main resident at Ministry of Sound in Singapore.
Track selector, Music Director, and bullshit detector, his strait talking attitude, softened only by his passion for the music, has earned him the respect of industry heavy hitters at both the global and local level, and he is set to remain one of the key components of the house and techno scene in Asia into perpetuity.

My girlfriend and I just left the W Seminyak and were very sad to leave such an amazing property. We’ve stayed at many beach side Ws and this is by far the best experience we’ve had from check in to out. The property itself is gorgeous and not overly “trendy” with the neon decor that many W brand hotels keep. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The food is amazing (best free breakfast buffet ever, for those SPG members out there). The pool is probably the highlight as the beachside location and endless free seating and great service make you easily forget about the long journey to Bali. We were a bit nervous about the younger partying Seminyak crowds at their well established Woobar, but that ended up not being an issue. Despite the great time their bar scene offers, when you want to get some sleep the walls and windows seem to block out everything except the loud crashing waves. Also many fantastic restaurants and beach clubs within a 5 minute walk. The concierge will help with any reservations you want. Will definitely stay again next time we visit!
